Led by Christian Woods, a working UK Film & TV prop man with 6 years on professional sets.
Built by someone who works on set
Built by someone who actually works on set.
Get On Set is led by Christian Woods, a working UK Film & TV prop man with 6 years of professional on-set experience across high-end film and television productions.
I built this sprint because most beginners are not lazy. They are just being given vague advice.
This is practical guidance from inside the industry.
On-set experience across productions connected to:
Names shown for career credit context only. Get On Set is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies.
The problem
Most beginners are not lazy. They are just unclear.
Most people trying to break into Film & TV are told the same vague advice:
- “Just network.”
- “Start as a runner.”
- “Email production companies.”
- “Get on set somehow.”
- “Take anything you can get.”
Some of that advice can be true.
But it is not enough.
Because if you do not know which route to aim for, how to present yourself, who to contact, or what to say, you can waste months doing random things.
Vague advice creates vague action.
The real cost
Every week you keep guessing, you lose momentum.
You may already be working hard.
But without a clear route, you can end up doing the wrong work:
- Applying for random jobs.
- Sending weak messages.
- Saying “I'll do anything.”
- Not following up.
- Waiting for someone to give you a chance.
- Missing obvious entry points because nobody explained them.
This sprint helps you replace guessing with a simple weekly system.
The Get On Set system
The 4 things you need before people start taking you seriously.
Pick a realistic first route so you stop saying “I'll do anything.”
Make your CV, profile and short intro look more relevant, even if you are still near the start.
Build a simple map of people, companies, groups and entry points worth contacting.
Write simple messages, follow-ups and a weekly work-search routine you can stick to.
How it works
The 4-week Film & TV Work Sprint.
Each week focuses on one part of your work-search system.
Understand how beginner-level work actually happens and choose a realistic first route.
Improve how you present yourself through your CV, LinkedIn/profile and short intro.
Build a practical contact map of people, companies, groups and entry points.
Write better messages, plan follow-ups and build your 30-day work-search routine.
What you get
By the end, you will not have a guaranteed job. You will have a clearer plan.
This does not guarantee work. It gives you a clearer way to start moving.
Why this is different
This is not another “just network” lecture.
You will choose a clear first direction instead of trying everything.
You will make your CV, profile and intro easier for people to understand.
You will build a list of people and places worth contacting.
You will leave with simple actions to repeat for 30 days.

FAQ
Questions before you join the waitlist.
Is Cohort 1 really full?
Yes. The first live beta group is full. Cohort 2 is the next intake and starts Autumn 2026 (Sept/Oct). Join the waitlist to be first in line when applications open.
When exactly does Cohort 2 start?
Autumn 2026 — likely September or October. Exact dates will be confirmed with the waitlist before applications open.
Will this guarantee me a job?
No. Nothing honest can guarantee that. The goal is to help you build a clearer route, better materials, better contacts and a stronger weekly action system.
Do I need experience?
No. This is for people near the beginning. You may have student films, short films, unpaid experience, some paid experience, or no professional set experience yet.
What if I do not know what department I want?
That is exactly what Week 1 helps with. You will look at realistic first routes and choose where to focus.
Is this only for graduates?
Cohort 2 is mainly aimed at graduates and early-career people. Career changers are welcome if the problem fits.
Why is it free?
Because this is the live beta version. In return, I want committed people who will show up, do the work, give feedback and, if it helps them, provide a testimonial or case study.
Why is the group small?
Because this is live and feedback-led. A smaller group means better discussion and more useful feedback.
What happens after I join the waitlist?
You'll get a confirmation email. When Cohort 2 applications open, waitlist members hear first and get the chance to book a short 20-minute fit call with Christian.
Is this pre-recorded?
No. The beta sprint is live, practical and feedback-led.
